SATA AHCI mode is not supported by Windows XP

  • Disable the AHCI mode of SATA drives in BIOS.
  • download the SATA driver and extract
  • go to device manager and select Sata ATA driver
  • update the driver
  • select install from a specific location and browse the location of the driver
  • select the correct chipset
  • reboot
  • goto BIOS, enable the AHCI mode of SATA
  • Start the Windows
  • select yes to reboot when windows has new device
