Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) - Error 0xEF critical process died

The CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED (0xEF) bug check usually means a vital Windows process unexpectedly terminated, often due to driver issues, system file corruption, or faulty hardware.

To start troubleshooting:

  1. Run System File Checker

Open Command Prompt (Admin) and run: sfc /scannow

Use the system file checker tool https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/usi...

  1. Check for corrupted Windows image

Run: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Repair windows image with DISM. Click here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardw...

  1. Update all drivers, especially storage and chipset drivers. You can use Device Manager or visit the OEM site.
  2. Perform a Clean Boot to isolate third-party software. Click here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-t...

If BSODs continue after these, upload the minidump files (not full memory dumps) for deeper analysis.
